I would lose the bra also. You can go to any car tinting place and they will put clear tint over your trouble spots and that way no scratches. Then when/if that starts looking bad peel it off and have more put on. Shouldnt be very expensive I dont think. I know they will do the whole front portion of a hood on a car for 40-60 bucks I think. Just a thought. I will be doing this as soon as I get a bike.

I can't tell you "how much better" because I've not ridden a Custom, or any other single-disc Harley, but they do a pretty respectable job on my "Roadster". If you're looking for more braking power, I'd suggest going to a 4- or 6-piston caliper - way cheaper (and easier) than adding another disc setup. Also, remember that 80% of your braking should be done on the front wheel for the most effective braking...

How much better stopping power does the dual front disk's give?

OK -- I dumped the bra. I am already paranoid as is, and the thought of that thing on the tank for a long time, through rain, wind, sun etc made me think twice. It probably will ruin my finish. So hell with it. I'll jsut be more careful and make sure I do not scratch the tank up too much.
So the bra is kaput -- waste of money. Oh well, easy come, easy go. If I get motivated I will put it up on eBay and see if I can at least get a few coins for it. WIsh I had saved the box.

Nice looking 1200R!
I like the blacked-out look and am thinking about finding some used engine cases on ebay & having the powdercoated black.

Also, I've been looking at the HD Vivid Black Floating Brake Rotors - has anyone here tried them on a Sportster?
Thanks
