Darn dealer - no more free storage

Darn dealer - no more free storage
When I bought my 06 XL1200C I was told the dealer would pick up the bike each winter and store it for free. They would also deliver it for free in the spring. That was a great selling point. I received an email today stating it will now cost $300 for their "Winter Care Package". No more free storage. I'm pissed. I wish I had something in writing to take to the dealer to voice my displeasure. I guess there is a bright side: if we get a nice day here during the winter I can take the bike out.

What the heck is somebody in Ypsi doing with a Montreal logo? I work in Ann Arbor, live in Tecumseh ... I posted a string asking for thoughts on winter storage and got great advice. I also received a similar flyer, and if it's from the same AHD place it has to do with their change of ownership ... but if you get $1500 worth of work done they'll "credit" the $300 storage ... sorry, I'll keep it in the garage. Just watch out for the road salt on any of those nice winter days!

At least you know what the Montreal logo looks like. Someone at work thought it was for the Chicago Cubs. Yuck! I was looking forward to having a non-cluttered garage this winter. It wasn't meant to be. Like someone pointed out, perhaps I can get out for a ride or two over the winter. Hopefully in 5-7 years I'll be moving to a warmer climate.

Nope, not a first year deal. Talked to a sales guy about it yesterday. It is definately something new this year. Said it had to do with the dealership changing ownership. This is the first year everyone wanting storage will have to pay for it. Just more of a reason for me to move south and get a bigger garage.
