Default c&c solo seat arrived

my new c&c seat arrived...very nice. i ordered it in black leather for the seating and carbon fiber faux leather for the sides.

chuck at c&c was great to work with when i wanted more customization to be done but would have gone beyond my budget. i scaled back, and here's the result. it's lightweight and the black leather seating is so smooth, supple, and soft. haven't put it on the bike yet, but it does feel more comfortable to the touch than the stock vinyl hd solo seat on the bike now.

$243 including shipping. ordered on 10/18, shipped on 10/19 ups ground...delivered today ;-) kudos to c&c and chuck there.

will take some pics of it on bike later tonight.

stock hd solo seat going up for sale tonight on ebay.

Looks sweet! Can't wait to see it on the bike. Make sure you take pics from all sides, top view too, so we can get a good idea of what it looks like.

here you go. fit is perfect and feels solid. the c&c is lighter than stock solo seat. front edge fits even better than stock seat and closes the gap where it meets the gas tank. c&c is narrower than stock (see top view pic) and follows sides of the bike better.

one thing i noticed is there's no tab for the center post under the seat like on the stock seat. i can feel something beneath the liner but will check with c&c before i cut a slit for what i think is the center tab.

i'll take it back off and snap a few side by side pics later.

c&c solo vs. stock sportster iron solo seat. you can see c&c is slightly narrower.

just took a few more, better pics for you.

i did talk with chuck at c&c, and he said and i quote, "DON'T cut the bottom, all after market seats sit on top of the post, that was a very poor design by HD (only the 04 up Sporty had this thing, and the stock seat always cracks usually on the first time removed. Our seat sits on top of it, what your felling is the hole where we pour the foam..." my stock seat is perfect and nothing wrong. guess depends on how you remove the stock seat.

the c&c seat installed perfectly and no cutting of a slit like i thought. test rode for a bit and found it very comfy...a winner.

Do you feel you sit a little further back with the new seat, or is it similar to the stock?
