Do a search for a thread I started on this about about 10 months or so ago. I think it was head's up for Sporty Clutch problems.

thanks sporty pig... turns out the previous owner installed an SE Clutch kit on my bike BUT used the stock HD plates which are a weaker material but the correct amount of plates (the SE Clutch kit has one extra plate than the HD stock kit).... i think he got had but it was my price to pay in the end...oh well, starting fresh with the all new SE Clutch kit WITH the kevlar plates this time.

final update.... original clutch plates that the previous owner put on when he installed an SE Clutch kit were not the kevlar clutch plates that come with the kit. they were a softer material, maybe the stock plates and a different spring plate... so the stack, although there were 9 plates in there, still wasn't the correct thickness... two plates were worn out terribly and the others close to bad. Installed a completely new SE clutch kit with the right plates this time and switched from syn oil to non-syn oil in the primary. so far so good!
