I just realized something and am wondering if anyone else has noticed the same.

Since I raised the front of my fuel tank 2" on my 2010 Iron, I have not had a single instance of the low fuel light coming on, at all. Prior to this change, that damned thing would come on randomly anywhere from 10-80 miles after a fill up. I got in the habit of refueling at 100 miles, and am still doing the same, but it's been about a month now, I ride about 1000 miles/month, and I haven't seen that little yellow annoyance come on a single time. Maybe I should see how long it takes now.

The first time I complained, the dealer replaced the head unit. When that didn't do anything, I stopped complaining, btw.

Anyone else?

 

Mine certainlly changed with the tank lift comming on after about 80 miles.Maybe you got lucky and got one that functions with a tank lift ,way to go.

 

Yeah, mine comes on all the time now. Stupid light!

 

My Nightster's had the fuel light come on at weird times many times and it's 100% stock. The dealer has now replaced the fuel pump to "fix" the problem...for the second time. We'll see what happens when I actually get it back now though.

on my 09 iron before the lift it would come on randomly.Since the 2inch lift I noticed it is alot more consistent now.It comes on between 70 ish and 90 miles depending on how i ride.

 

mine comes on randomly after the lift,
never trusted it anyway and always go off the mileage.
