They say belts are good to 130 hp. In most cases belts are fine. I ride year round sand and salt are hard on belt drives. After destroying 4 belts and pulleys, I converted to chain drive. I won't go back. The chain creates less rolling resistance than belts. I picked up 3hp at the wheel and increased my fuel range by 10 miles. Chains are noisy and messy. This is false. I use an O-ring chain. They are a little noisier but not by much. You oil the chain while it's hot (after a ride). Wipe off the extra oil when you are done, this will prevent messes. I have to adjust the chain every 2,000 miles. Zippers Performance sells a kit that is easy to install. It will take you about 4hrs.
madmax442 I think that I will keep the short shots do not like the 2into1, they do not look good to me. How much did it run you to get heads port and polished if you dont mind me asking?
Wraith, so then all around it is more for looks rather than any real performance. Cant think of to many times I went over 130. Once or twice racing a 750 gsxr
I was talking horse power not mph. If you are going to do serious engine mod and or nitrous, you may need a chain drive. Look at a drag or sport bike, what is the final drive? A rubber band can't deliver serious power.

It was about $500 for a local guy with a flow bench to do it. He left the stock valves but I had SE Heavy duty higher lift springs put in because I went with bigger cams. I had the Shortshots on my bike and when I added the 2 into 1 pipe it got me 6 extra HP!. Look at RB Racings site. They have many pictures of different styles with 2 into 1 pipes. You might like the look!
