forward to mid controls
#2
I have an 02 Custom. I just put a set of mids on my bike yesterday that I bought from a guy from the XLForum. I'm hoping to get out today. I'm about 5-10 with at 31 or 32 inseam. I ride an FZ1 so I'm accustomed to riding with mids. Also, my bike puts out about 95HP so it was a little hard to shift when getting it using the forwards. I'll let you know what I think but I'm thinking I'll like it. I put my passenger pegs us on the forward mounts so I have two sets of pegs.

Alright. Took about a 50 mile ride and am digging the mids. I don't think the pegs I bought for the forwards are the best though. How about those of you who have the mids on shoot some pics of your pegs, particularly the shifter side. This is the side that's most uncomfortable. Thanks in advance.

I tried mids for about a day, maybe 250 miles. Hated them. Every time I put my feet down or when backing up I'd hit one of the damn footpegs. Annoyed the hell out of me. They didn't relieve my back strain, either. 6' about 210 lbs. The forwards went back on. I have no issues controlling my motorcycle with them. The forwards really aren't that far forward.
Enjoy swapping them out.

I changed from forwards to mids, it's the only way to go if you are performance riding oriented, they are also much more comfortable to ride and yoyu can stand up for large bumps just like a dirt bike. My wife has forwards on her bike and I added the mid foot pegs to hers so she can move her feet back and forth to relieve leg stress.

I ran mids on the Nightster for about a year,as I'd only ridden Suzuki's with mids and clip-on's before.
The midsgiving you the alternative of kicking a foot back onto the passenger pegs for a change in stance. However with a passenger on the back on longer rides I felt a little cramped,so I put on the forwards.
It's not a racing stance and standing up on the pegs to adjust the jewels is no longer an option ,
but I quite like it and don;t think I;ll switch back to mids.
