Default Oil recommendations

I know that this subject has probably been beat to death, but I am going to ask anyhow. Must be my ADHD kicking in.
I am planning on changing the oil and filter on my 02 883 Hugger.
What do you all recommend for oil? It's got 8000 miles on it, and I don't know which oil was used last time it was serviced. I bought it right after the prior owner had had it serviced, and she could'nt remember what oil they had put in it. So, fire away, and tell me whats best for the beast!!

I have used both the HD screaming eagle synthetic or the Lucas stuff, both work well for me. 20w-50 if I remember correctly.

For simplicity, I recommend using the SE synthetic. You can run it in your engine and your primary.

Mobile 1 15w50 in the engine and 75w90 in the primary. I change my oil every 3000 miles and my primary fluid every other oil change (6000 miles).

Steer clear of HD oil - it's crap. Go w/M1 20W/50 synth & for Cazimere - you cen get filters at most auto part stores too. I get Wix filters from OReilly's...

The farmers around me all use the Amsoil dealer who works out of his house, two houses down from me. I get him to get my oil/lubricants. I get my filters online.

+1 on Amsoil but I go with HD filters because 1 they are good and 2 they are the right micron count the bike needs for filtration!

I use Amsoil 20-50 Engine and Primary/Trans. NAPA PowerSport Filter (made by WIX I believe). Works for me.
