Question New HID LIGHT on MY 11 Iron

soo i got my new HID Kit with the 8k light and when i saw what i was getting into i was worried. i opened the light to see what i needed to do it was really plug and play. But the hard thing was passing all the wires into the housing so i got a 3/8 drill bit and made the existing wire hole a bit bigger. I passed all the wires thru and i hide the ballset on top of the horn. now i was wondering if the hid light would be too hot for the headlamp?? or if anyone had some advice on were to hide the hid box so its safe???

The light itself will actaully run cooler than a halogen bulb. The HID box ( Ballast ) should water tight so you can pretty much put it anywhere you want.

Default Round 2 !!!

OK sorry for the late reply i had some more issues with the hid light that i wanted to handle.
soo i went to home depot and bought some high heat tape. and some zip ties

i went back to the light and warped the wires that i cut and and also cleaned up some off the wires that were just not properly hiding. i got the hid box and zip-tied it under the tank kinda...

Thanks for the post. I'm greatly interested in this subject. Would you mind detailing exactly which HID kit you are using, please? Make/model/part number/etc?

Thanks!

That light looks good and bright. I take it would went with just the low beam light, not the hi/low set up? I mean with a light that bright there is no need for a high beam unless you have a state inspection where you live.

ya i wanted to go with the high/low setup but when i saw the light this bright. i said never mind i don't want to blind someone more.

@schwingding
I really wish i can help you but i went to downtown were they sell alot of car audio stuff and bargained with a few ppl. The price was not bad at all 65.00 for everything.

there was cheaper but the HID box were the big fat ones and those are just ugly!!

if your in LA. i would be more then happy get you a set. let me know
