My buddy just bought an 07 1200C, and had the baffles drilled out....runs great,sounds great and only costed 150....

go figure....

 

also.... i dont believe i heard anything about CATs

 

I checked, didn't see a cat in the pipes or muffler on my '06 883. Although I'm not TOTALLY sure I'd recognize it if I saw it. But I think I would. Oh well...doesn't matter, she runs and sounds great with the cycle shack slipons.

 

Did you look at your STOCK mufflers or the Cycleshack ones?

The Cycleshack's won't have it, as no aftermarket company installs them....

 

I looked at the stock mufflers. I KNOW there's not a cat in the cycle shack. There's not much of anything inside them. They not "straight", but you can look through one end and read a newspaper through the other end.

 

Is that just for California? If so, my answer would be just move away from the left coast and buy a Harley

Indeed, '07 do NOT have a Catalitic Converter. '06 had them only on the CA model. The EFI did away with the cat on US XL's.

 

drummer, did your buddy check his plugs, before and after he had the baffles drilled, i was going to drill mine, but my plugs are light grey to almost white, and was afraid to drill the baffles, was just wondering, thanks

He did have it done at a reputable aftermarket bike shop, and they did also change the Jet....So, maybe you"ll have to do the same.... and then they tuned it accordingly...
