Question Speedo Relocation Options

Drag Bars
Been looking at getting these bars for a couple of months now but have a feeling that stock speedo bracket/location would just jut out and clutter up the look.
Don't really want to relocate the speedo to the side of the bike and am looking for any other options. Am I stuck with one of the two above mentioned placements or is there something else I haven't found?

Is there a particular reason for going agains a side mount because there is an excellent really clean piece from Joker Machine that mounts to your left side 39mm fork with LED display and everything.

Or there is what many of us did before these parts were available and purchase a Summit Racing speedo mount and you can get an upper clamp that has an insertion piece for your LEDs (thanx FISH)

otherwise this is what you may look like

All damn it I went picture crazy again. just wanted to show some speedo pics on the close to stock old bike VS clean speedo.

Sorry, this is now officially a hijacking. "Now i want you to reach back into that bag and hand me my wallet"

There's always the "48" bracket that lays down a little flatter. Don't know if its a direct swap or not but it should look a little better than sticking up so high

Warrick, do u have riser on those bars or just the stock clamps? I was looking at the 48 bracket but the bars I was looking at have 4.5" risers and didn't know if it would look right.

Slackster, nothing in particular against the side mount. I saw the Joker kit and think it looks clean even if it is a bit pricey. I was just wanting to make sure I'd looked at all options before settling in and deciding on one.

I'm digging the 48 speedo setup! I'd prefer it to a side mount also I think. Just too much involved with risers and headlights and relocations...

Was it hard mounting it?

You need, at the minimum 3.5 inch risers (that is what is on my bike), in order for the speedo bucket to clear the headlight brow. No headlight relocation.

I bought the bars, risers and 2 OEM pieces from the "48" (speedo bucket, top clamp). The clamp is not standard which requires a bit of machining for any standard riser to fit it. I have a buddy who owns his own shop (worked for HD for 21 years) who did most of the work. He said machining the risers down took as much time as anything else.

My risers are 3.5" (from Lick's Cycles).
