Default '11 Forty Eight

Anybody ridden a new 48? How do they go? Any ideas or info on average mileage per tank? I heard it was approx 100miles per tank, but looking for confirmation.

Cheers,
Chops

Tons of info on 48's here on the forums. Do a search for 48 or Forty-Eight and you should get lots of hits. I like mine enough and have done lots of mods. I've never run out of fuel so can't comment on the 100 miles per tank. Furthest I've gone without stopping is 90 miles on the freeway. I usually fill up between 75 and 80. Some seem to want to ride 200 miles without filling up but 75 is fine with me. Nothing is 100% so you have to decide what's important to you when choosing a bike. I am very happy with my choice and came to the 48 from a Heritage Softail. Hope this helps. Don't hesitate to PM me if you have any questions you think I can help out with.

I sold my '09 xln for a '10 xlx. The seat is not as comfortable, the lower pegs are fu(kd,( they are to low to ride aggressively) the fuel range is only 100miles, the 16" front tire seems to make it harder to transition from turn to turn than the 19" of the Nightster and the '10 were probably just old '09 frames that didn't go into production because of a bad economy.

That being said....I wouldn't have it any other way! I'm happier with my 48.

I love my 48- since I picked it up, my softail doesn't get out as much. I haven't run out of gas- I try and stop at 70-80 miles. I have done a lot of mods- stage 1, spring seat, grips etc with a lot more being done now- paint, new pipes, new air filter, custom pegs from 4T8 on forum, chopping rear fender, speedo relocation, new handlebars, new derby cover and black rocker tops. I would recommend this bike- I love mine.
