i thought nightster and iron had the same front end, so....
what the heck is the difference between the nightster superbrace and the iron superbrace? both are available in gloss and denim black so it isn't just the color....and they are both machined for gaitors.......

they are different part numbers and indicate different years.
some online stores specify the nightster brace for the iron and some do not...
i'd like to order one at the same time from the same place that has shocks for my iron but they only stock the 'nightster brace' and not my 'iron brace'.

anyone have any idears?

 

Just order the one for your year...there may be a tiny difference in the way something mounts in the later years...

i did.
i said, 'i see you have superbrace #5184' and posted a link to their own site showing it. then i asked if they could get me a 5184-01 for 2010 h-d iron 883n.
they said they had it in stock and sent me back a link to the nightster brace (same flippin link i sent them).
if it is the same brace, why the different part #s @ superbrace website???

 

Looks to me like they are the same and that they only added the -01 to the end of the part number after the Iron was Introduced to the market. They are the same as far as I can see. Order one I am pretty sure you will be fine.

 

The forks on the Nighterster and the Iron are both 39mm same as both my bikes and the distance apart is the same. Now when you get into the 48 or the new 883 super low the forks are farther apart to the brace would not work.

 

I think the Nightster brace has a flange to accomidate the gators.
EDIT, sorry I didn't see that the Iron does too, they look the same to me.

 

Most likely, if they posted "Fits Nightster/Iron" people would be calling or emailing them asking if they really will fit. Instead, it looks like they just made a dedicated page for each, with ensures the customer that they are ordering the right part for their bike.

 

If you want to know the difference between 2 parts they have listed, maybe you should word your e-mail to them more clearly.
Simply ask them what the difference is between part # xxxx-xx and part # yyyy-yy.
