i contacted superbrace. i asked what the difference was between the two part numbers and asked if they were interchangeable.

here is a copy and paste from their response:

There is no difference the 2 braces. We had add the - and 01 so our website could handle multiple descriptions for the same part number.

So, apparently they failed grammar school.

At least they make a good product. Next on my list, for sure.
