Default Wanting bigger apes. Kit or build own?

Ok so I did some searching and found HCC site. can get a complete kit. PC Black 16'' apes, all cables etc for just over $400 after you pick which selection from drop down boxes.

But I also did a search on here and found Road6 customs on ebay for $124 for just the hangers. Im sure I can get wires etc for a lot less then $300.

So should I just buy what I know will work for sure or buy the road6 customs and get my own wires?

If I go 16'' which length wires do I need? Anyone have a site? I dont want to buy to short of wires, etc.

Ill spend the extra money if I have to so I can do a one order and feel secure about it. But saving money is always good.

Looking to do 16'' apes and new grips at the same time.

Also do I want a dual disc? What about risers?Size?

HCC site

Thanks guys.

Anyone?

I can get a kit for a decent price. I do like the Road 6customs apes.http://www.road6customs.com/online-s...roduct=1136440

But they have no cables. No can I buy the burly 16''ape hanger cable kit? Or is that for fitment with only burly brand. Heres the cable kit. It says for 16''apes but could be for their apes. I know their can be two companys with same ape size and it would be different some way.

if thats the case I can do this for about $360. Not bad.

Thanks

I got the complete kit of 16" from HCC and love it! Great quality and great service. That said, any set of cables for 16"apes will fit. they are not bar specific. It is pretty confusing trying to piece it all together yourself which is why I ended up buying the kit from HCC.

Only get dual disc if you are running a dual front disc brake. That's a disc on both sides of the wheel.

As far as risers go, in my opinion, with apes, the shorter the better. BUT that is just my opinion. You have to take into consideration what you are going to do with all the wires that are in your existing riser(depending on your bike) I went with 1 1/2" riser on my setup.

I see you ride a 1200N you have a perfect bar clamp/riser for the ape setup! If it was me, I would keep the stock risers.

Anyone have Licks apes? Looked at their site and they look to be nice and price great.

$130 I think for 16'' in black?

So its either HCC complete kit, or Road 6 customs/Licks with Burly 16'' wiring kit.

Still looking.
