hey guys i just did a stage 1 upgrade
V&H sideshots, SE heavy breather and Super Tuner

i got installed 4 days ago
anyways i try to turn my bike on today held start felt like it was choking then suddenly i hear a LOUD BOOOOOOP ....i was like wtf realize it was a backfire bike didnt turn on ......i turn it off and on and then try 2 start my bike it starts ..
im just wondering why it had that super loud BOOOP noise ...normal or not

should i get it checked
my bike run perfectly now though but just wondering if theres any reasons

 

Check all the connections...for leaks. Did you use new gaskets on the head pipes?? Anywhere there is a connection with the exhaust (a joint) if there is a leak it will do that.

 

I have heard a start up backfire from every harley that I've ever been around. My Dad and brother both have new HD's, and they will both backfire at start from time to time.

 

Mine will do it unless I open the throttle slightly while cranking. Helps clear out any fuel that got sucked in when the engine shut off.

 

Some will do it, but my 883 has never done it, to my knowledge. So it isn't "normal".

 

ya im sure they used new gaskets when installed the pipes
i called up harley they said 2 bring it in ..they asked me 2 bring my tuner in too!!
im thinking they want to retune it!!!
not sure why..... hmm ...
fingers crossed ...i hope that **** doesnt happen again was scary
