Should I??????
Ok so hear is my issue i have been thinking of building a bike for years but due to budget it has never happened. Well now i have a 1988 sporty 883 and i love it but it gets no attention. So hear is my question i have been thinking of doing a rigid bike for years and now i have my other half has begun to ride with me. So im trying to figure out if i wanna build a really cool chopper/bobber or should i just put struts on my bike so when she rides i can switch back to the coils? Any ideas

See i thought that to but she wants to ride with someone and she dont wanna ride alone. Thats why i thought of strutting the bike so i could change it if she wants to ride with me but i can still slam the bike for myself. IDK what to do and i dont have another like 6 or 7k to build my own "yes i cheap i make all of my stuff"

I make my own stuff too...like my struts.
A couple possible issue I see with swapping back and forth changing the ride height is (1) the bike will feel different when she gets on it already. Toss in a height change and that may add to your awkwardness since the bike will feel different and (2) if you make a significant ride height change your drive belt will either become very tight or rather loose possibly shortening the life of the belt (the belt is expensive and I don't see you making one of those) and (3) it's not a 2 min swap. It doesn't take a real long time but long enough for her to possibly lose interest in riding at all.
I think that I'd just leave the suspension on it or come up with a quick detach passenger spring mounted pillion pad.
