I really like the seat on the new super low. and would like to put one on my nightster. sales dude at the dealer told me the black box was moved from under the seat to make more room for foam? is this true??? also will it work with my tank?

 

They did move the black box, but it was on all '10 & up Sportsters, and had nothing to do with adding seat foam, because they didn't on most models. Yes, it will work with your tank.

 

First off never ask a salesman about mods, parts or bikes over all. The super low has a 4.4 tank so as far as I know you can't use a seat made for a 3.3 tank with a 4.4 tank, but you can use the seat from the 4.4 on the 3.3. Yeah 2010 and up has the ECM behind the engine, not under the seat, but the seat will work. Ovel all I love the look of the super low and HD did a great job, not if they would just make that bike with the 1200 in it that would be my fav sporty of all time.

 

I would go farther than that... don't ask a salesman about anything except the price that he'll sell a particular bike for. The Superlow has a 4.5 tank, not a 4.4. The Superlow seat will fit on a Nightster, as the stock seat is for a 4.5 tank, which is why there is a gap. I have both, and have run both seats on each. They fit great on each other.
