If it sounds too good to be true.........
I've bought and sold a lot of stuff on Craigslist and there are a crapload of scammers on there. If it seems even a little bit fishy it's probably a scam.

BTW: Blue Book on that 09 is $9000, just for reference.

p.s. I bought min on Craigslist too
The way I got the deal on mine was I found a guy locally that was selling his Nightster for 6100. he didnt take his listing down after he sold it so....
I e-mailed a bunch of people selling their Nightsters and gave a link to his listing and said "if you can match this price, I am buying this weekend and will look at yours"
I found a guy that said "wow thats low" then 5 minutes later e-mailed me back and said if you come this weekend with cash i will sell ir for 6100.
so I beat a trail to his house with the cash.
It came with pass pillon and pegs, but like I said only had 550 miles.
I was barely touching the road that 200 miles home smiling all the way...lol

No pro at this but are nightsters generally less expensive because of the not so good looking engine color? In my area I have seen them selling for not much more than 883's.

9k is a bit of a stretch, NADA shows a low retail of $6925 and a average retail of $8245.

There is sure a range of prices on the Sportsters. I just (today) purchased an 04 Sportster 1200R with 5100 miles and paid $4900. From the prices I have been seeing around here I felt I got a decent deal and I got the bike I wanted. Its an older year but low miles and in showroom condition. Now I just have to decide what I want to do with it.

Congrats on your new bike!

Great deal on the bike, but $425 for Rider's Edge? WOW! What dealer?

You could have signed up for the MSF and travelled to Lakehurst for like $200. Even the HD of Ocean County was doing Rider's Edge for $300 and dropping it down to $200 or so to drag new people in.

Glad you got that price for the bike to help offset the cost for the course, and happy to hear that you took the course in the first place, but DAMN that's expensive.

Around these parts the KBB price is actually slightly on the low side. A lot of times their priced even higher than that. Bikes seem to be on the $$$$$ side around here for some reason. I paid $4000 out the door for my 04 883C w/ 7000mi and that was a SMOKIN' good price for this area. I've yet to see a better price on one around here.
