Anyone have perimeter brakes?
Hi everyone,
I was wondering if anyone has any experience with perimeter brakes wether on a sportster or other.
I'm looking into switching my front brakes and was thinking the not only does it look good, but that it might actually improve the breaking.
I've been reading the mixed comments on the subject, but that makes me think that on a 48, with such a big wheel to begin with, and is used for around town driving (not track) they would greatly improve breaking.
I've contacted a shop inquiring about pricing and application, but wanted to get some opinions, not on looks but drivability.
Thanks
Lou

I've actually concidered the same. I'm not sure if you're going to notice a "night and day" change in brake 'grab' rolling around town, unless you routinely slam on the brakes. Asthetically, I dig the look. I think I've only seen one sportster with the mod done, so it's a pretty fresh idea.

I'm sure you can find better, but if you google perimeter brakes, you can find a lot of pics and info.
Esthetically, it will free up the center of your wheel.
