Dragging the Jiffy Stand

Dragging the Jiffy Stand
Just recently, I've notice on hard lefts I'm not scraping my peg, but my jiffy stand instead. I know I haven't scraped my peg down so far that it's no longer in the way. It doesn't seem like it's loose or anything.
Is there something I can adjust? Or do I just need to lose 30 pounds?

could be the forks or shocks settling,,,
a slightly low tire pressure,,,

Yeah Guys,,the Low models have less avalible lean angle,,BUT,,
You can Increase It,,
A little added preload in the forks,,a notch up in the back,,
If ya got the coin,,,taller shocks n fork springs,,,
add an Inch,, gain lean angle and ya still will have that low slammed look.
That occasional contact may sound cool but one day,,,
a small dip or rise in the pavement at the wrong time,,
It's called a High side,,,very painful..
Stay within the bikes limits,,
If you go In a turn too hot,,,get your body low and hang off,,
Learn how to trail brake also,,,

dude....while the info you're giving is good....it's not a sport bike and I wouldn't recommend hanging off the side of a nightster or iron unless you dramatically increase the ride height and/or know what the fvck you're doing! you want lean, buy a sport bike and get on the track. check the bolts on the stand michael and make sure everything is snug. nighty's and irons are low and don't have a great deal of lean angle on either side. by the way.....no chicken strips here (lol).

There are brass bushings on the top and bottom of the jiffy stand pivot pin. They wear out. I just ordered new bushings ($6 each, ouch) and pivot pin last week. The last time I changed them on the OL's bike was two years ago and one of the bushings was worn in two.
Chicken strips are the outer section of a tire that don't get used because the bike isn't leaned over far enough. Too chicken to lean.

Dragging hard parts sucks! It's a great way to end up getting hurt REAL bad. That's why I lifted mine 2.5" from where it was (13.5" shocks in rear vs. the 11's and 1/2-3/4 in front via preload spacers). I can get around a corner pretty quickly now w/o dragging parts so long as I hang off the side a bit. I have about 1/2 chicken strips in the rear and none in the front (skinny 21" tire). Honestly, I don't trust those POS Harley tires for more than that. Now I can keep up w/ Joe Average in his minivan vs Grandma blowing me away in the twisties w/ her Buick.
