Just used 1/8th inch steel to make two brackets the same as the tank lift only shorter. I think the bolt is 4 1/4" and I slid a piece of rubber hose over the center section. That 3/4" made a big difference for me. YMMV. Here's a pic.

This is awesome, thanks for sharing. I'm going to have to do the same as I have the issue with sliding forward.
