Yes, if you've ever been in the saddle of a Jap rocket you'll realize that you don't stand a chance in hell. My first couple bikes were Jap rockets and you're talking bikes that put out double the torque off the rear wheel. Sorry buddy, if you were looking for speed you're looking up the wrong tree. Enjoy your scoot for what it is.

If you're talking stock vs stock sure. However stroker XLCH sportsters held nearly every national record in dragracing here in the good ole USA until the inline 4's took over in the early 70's. Leo Payne was famous for whipping those Brit bikes on a regular basis. He was running 11.0's in the 1/4 mile on a street licensed 83" XLCH way back in 1968.

My last bike was an early R1 (carb model), there's fk all (cruiser and car wise) that'll catch it on ordinary rds. Like a mate said to me years ago..."you dont buy things like harleys to go fast"....true!. Yes they can go at a fair clip for what they are, but there just not in the same league as jap rd rockets.
