This is way too funny....really? you raced a rice burner? And you thought you had a chance???
The thing is with HD you are not buying speed...and I dont care what anyone here says....they bought their HD for the style...and most of all...Its American made..American heritage...You bought the name....and what comes with it. The guy on jap bike will turn heads...because people want to know what that buzzing noise is...but you park your HD next to the jap bike and see who gets the most looks...Ive had both bikes...(CBR600F3, nothing could touch me after the mods)...and I can say Ive had more fun on my Sporty than I ever had on CBR....guess IM getting old..going 140mph is really something I want to do anymore...and the sound is sooooo much sweeter on Harley....

I think most 550cc bikes could take any stock Harley.
My DR650 is faster, quicker and smoother then my 1200, and its a single cylinder.

Apples and oranges tho...

So don't try and race even dual purpose bikes...they will smoke you also.

When I had the Busa, a guy on a V-rod wanted to race me to the bar that was 5 miles away. I told him to go ahead and get to the parking lot, call me, and I would start. That was the only way it would be fair.

Have a tug-a-war. Your Sportie has more torque and weight, the Honda can't win.

a cb750 made since 1969 is a total diferant bike then a cbr, first year for a cbr hurricane was 1987..i just googled cbr 750 i guess i was wrong.. they were made for 2 years 87-88.. they were very rare most were 600-1000,then 900,923,929,1000rr and 1100xx popped up. i was a cycle tech from 94-07 and have never seen or heard of a 750 before.. eather way.. even a vrod isnt much compitition to a sport bike.. they are made race ready, really not even made for the street.. kind of like the special edition muscle cars in the 60's,but a lot higher production

From the initial post.....Got smoke off the line. I would have said that it's rider error on your part. Gettiin' off the line quicker is all on a rider/driver's reaction time.

Then about two or three pages into this thread....OP states that he was taken around the 100' mark........I'd say not $hit, Really? The rocket is hitting it's powerband and your shifting to second. So yes, he'd be blowing by you.

I'm not sure which it was.......Just pointing it out.
