Default Thousand miles for dad

My dad just recently passed away in Dallas and I live in Tucson. I was thinking of riding the scoot from here to there. I just put the first 1,000 miles on the 1200 Iron and did the first service. It will be me, the scoot, and the highway. I figure I would ride an average of 400 to 500 hundred miles a day. It's still a bit warm in the Southwest but what the heck. Dad always asked when I was going to ride to Dallas on the scoot. I think I should do it in his honor.
Rest in the peace of the Lord dad! Miss you and love you very much!

nice post- two thumbs up, and hope you can do that ride. 400 miles per day is a good ride if you arent use to it. i would shoot for more like 300 or so and take your time. find the small roads if you can.

A great way for you to pay tribute. Be safe and be sure to stay hydrated.

400 miles a day is gonna be different on a Sporty. I could eat those miles without a problem when I had my Electra Glide but those days are long gone. I've owned two Big Twins and this is my first Sporty, so this trip is gonna be a bit of an adventure. I broke the trip down to 3 days going and 3 days coming. I think that'll be a good break up in miles for a 2,000 miles round trip.
