Default Hand Grips

I would like to get rid of the stock handgrips on my XL1200R and put grips on that are comfortable and add some style. I have been looking at all the different grips and have no idea where to start, so I turn to you guys to see which grips are preferred.

Thanks in advance.

Kuryakyn Pilot Grips with Throttle Boss are the best grips I have ever owned, seen, or ridden with. LOVE them! They're not the fanciest looking, but they are solid and a huge improvement over the ISO's that everyone swears by.

Flame collection-grips, pegs, etc... Of course being a fireman I may be biased.

Grips and pegs are too personal to be asking what everyone else does. Go to the HD candy store and gaze at the wall. Choose...but choose wisely (can't return them). You can do the matching pegs and handgrip thing to. That would look best I think.

I like the HD contoured grips. If you have smaller hands, these are perfect and very comfortable. They make them in two diameters, small and large and the rubber on them is contoured to your hand; hence the name contoured grips. They also add a nice touch of chrome.....You can see them on my bike in my gallery....Good luck.

I put the Kuryakyn Flame Grips with Throttle Boss on mine. I had put the H-D Flame Pegs, but I wanted the Throttle Boss...and the extra length of the Kuryakyns. They are comfortable and they look great. The Flame pattern is a little different than the H-D pattern...but I don't think many people notice.

Mine came with the HD heated grips; nice for those 'cooler mornings.' I added a Throttle Boss and really like it. The only grips I would avoid are the ones with a knurled barrel and o-rings set into machined grooves every 1/4" or so. They look great, but the o-rings roll out of the grooves and get all bunched up, sorta like a wedgie [:'(]. IMHO, of course.

Well, that pic was a bit blurry; sorry 'bout that. Great bike, lousy camera (that's the last time I buy a digital cam from a street vendor).
