I have an 07 XL50. I installed Scremin Eagle II slips on (found them in stock a my local dealer), upgraded to the Scremin Eagle Stage I kit, and then purchased the SE Race Tuner kit. The dealer re-flashed the ECM using the SERT with a proper map. The SERT was not cheap, however, this bike runs totally different. You can lug the engine down to about 2200 RPM (before it was about 2500) and it raise the RPM limited from 6000 RPM to 7000 RPM. The bike used to very cold natured and took about 10 minutes of running before it smoothed out. Now cold starts are about as smooth as warm starts. Bike has more power, a broader power band, and get about 4 more MPG.

If money is not object, then have a builder "have at it" and please, post the results for your fellow XL-50 bums.

To me, spending anywhere near 6K on 20+ horsepower (over stock) on a harley is futile as the big bore bikes can easily do 120+ hp with the same upgrades, so with that being said, i'll be buying a Superglide in the spring and I will invest in a complete 110"+ motor for that bike rather than upgrading the XL anniversary edition. A 10hp gain for a grand is a far side cheaper than what the performance shops are charging to gain that extra 15-20 horses. (not worth it to me just to have a few more ponies)
Hopefully that does not sound arrogant, as I am just trying to have a little fun with my putter, and I still have that magical Harley Owner smile everytime I get near the thing. Speaking of which, I should call me local dealer as they are finishing the bike up today with the upgrades and stage 1 kit. Pics should be posted later tonight, and I am expecting a radical new look to this bike with the drag bars and forward controls being added. All I need now is that new Daytona seat from LePera and i'm set.
Cheers!
