Default The Pegs on a 48 are Offset

I'm trying to figure out whether any of the Harley pegs will fit the 48. In the picture attached, notice that the pegs on my 48 are offset a bit. Is that true of the other Sportsters?

Has anyone successfully changed the pegs on a 48? How was the new foot position? I wear size 11 boots and wonder how the slightly different position would be with straight pegs, that is, not offset ones.

Straight pegs might give a bit more lean angle I think.accessory

I asked a similar question in another thread and was told that it doesn't make a noticeable difference, but that person also wears size 8.

Your options are
- change the thing the peg is connected to using the ones on any other sportster
Or
- file your original ones down si that the new pegs will fit.

Either way according to others and my dealer, it's doable.

I have no first hand knowledge (never seen a 48 up close) but it looks like every other peg mount. The peg looks offset, not the mount (to me).

The Peg is offset, but also the Peg Holder has one side longer than the other. I had to trim the peg a little for it to fit. Otherwise it wouldn't fold out straight, it looked like a drawbridge anticipating a ship.

Just get some peg mounts from any other Sportster and use whatever pegs you want. That design is flat out dumb in my opinion.

My pegs do that too. I like it.

The peg mounts should place the pegs equidistant from the center of the frame. It doesn't matter if one mount is longer than the other.
