Default 2010 883 iron I want to get rid of the plastic under the tank

I put on the coil relocator but how do I get rid of all that plastic under the tank? Do I have to raise the tank? I'm also making a seat pan for a spring seat, has anyone ever made one?

From what I can tell yes you will have to do a tank lift. Its very simple to do. I just did a 2" tank lift and tucked the wires under the tank and got rid of the ugly plastic wire cover. I think it makes the bike look awesome.
I have never made a seat pan so no help there.

Good luck and happy moding

BG, if your going to make your own seat pan i am sure you can make your own tank lifts. 2 pieces of metal with holes at each end to put bolts in. You retaun the same bolts down low and rather than bolt in the tank that takes the bottom of the lift.

I bought the kit off ebay that included the coil/key relocation and tank lift. It was very well made and shipped in two days. Some guys made their own brackets for both the coil and key relocation. They also bought/moded brackets purchased from home depot/lowe's. You will need to tuck the wires after you do the relocation, it's much easier to do with the tank lifted.

Thanks! I'm going to make the tank lift myself I just wasn't sure how thick to make the brackets so the vibration doesn't snap em! I got my relocator on but I haven't put the plug wires on yet with wires can they just be cut and the end screwed back in?

it was real easy to do. I picked up some wire loom and wrapped the wires and it looks great. no issues at all just take your time and everything will look great.
