Default Time for a change!!!!

All right, I think it's time I started doing some changes to the scoot!!! Oh FFFFF'n yeah, I just acquired a second set of tins, (all for under $300 shipped from various Ebay Bids/BIN's), to try my hand at a custom paint job this winter. Now I just have to save up for the Ape's & custom wheels........Most likely the ape's I'll aquire soon.....Wheels, not so soon. Now to think of the paint scheme. Keeping a part of the paint job as my original Bronze pearl color, and thinking of also using a Forest green type color with similar metal flake. Tank should be at my house when I get home today, front fender in a day or two, and the rear in a few days after I give the guy a call as the shipping got screwed up---My fault on it though.

So anyone else already acquiring parts????

It's an aftermarket fat-bob style tank that came off a '96 Sporty. New it would have cost me more in the $350 range at least.

What model is your Sporty? Mine is a 99, and I would like to put a big fender on the front. The puny fender just looks like a popsicle stick bent over.

Thanx, RD

I've got front and rear fenders waiting to bob and paint. Still not sure how I'm going to do it up.

Post some pics as you go, nothing beats a build thread.

Mine's an '00 XLH=Standard sporty. Not the "Hugger" model from that year, but I've basically converted it to a Hugger/Custom model by slamming it down with 10" short shocks, forward controls, and polishing all the aluminum parts to look like chrome. Now it's time to learn how to weld and really polish up my paint skills. I've painted parts before, but I've never tackled anything this big.
