Use the throttle screw on my Sporty quite often on the open Hwy .. Even on my Ultra which has a Nice Cruise don't use it often as I would like .. But is definitely better than the thumbscrew routine..

I just got back from a 1185 mile trip on my sporty and I used the thumbscrew alot, and after you get used to it it works like a charm!

+1 on the Throttle Mate, it works great and it's inexpensive.

no reason to turn it off and on. just set the tension so it always stays put. you have to manually close the throttle, just like in the way-back-olden days.
