Default Vance & Hines Ceramic Scuffed!

I just installed some Vance & Hines Short Shots with the Black Ceramic on my Iron 883 and yesterday while I was riding, something caused a nasty scuff. I have no idea where it came from but needless to say, Im not happy.

Anyone know of any way to repair this? I know I can have it powdercoated again but was more interested if there was some type of "touch up" available?

I would post a pic but I am posting this from my laptop via wifi 33,000 feet in the sky...

I did the same.

Quoted from correspondence...

"You can try spraying some high temp flat black paint on to a flat clean surface, and using a thin paint brush apply gently on to the affected area of the heat shield. As mentioned before, the tone will not match, and who knows how long that paint will hold on with the heat. We do sell replacement heat shields if you are interested in replacing."

"The lower heat shield with the tip retails for $100.55"

This is directly from V&H's.

try this stuff

http://www.designengineering.com/cat...licone-coating

painted my chrome shields with it at comes out really close to the ceramic satin look on the black V&H shortys. i found normal high temp black paint comes out almost grey. if you use a little it might blend in, and hey its worth a try at only $10

heres what it looks like

we get ceramic coated shields in all the time to powder them, the ceramic is great for high heat applications but this does not require ceramic, it is weak and scuffs too easily... if you want we can re shoot your shields in powder for $100
