RE: Seats
i just put the mustang vintage on my 06 1200C last weekend. went with the wide solo for now. it is a pretty nice seat and fairly comfortable, but i now wish i had went with the standard instead of the wide. it looks a little too big for the bike and seems a little big to me while riding( i'm 5'11"and about 180). everyone that saw it thought it looked good, but said they liked the look of the stocker better. my first long trip with the stocker was to sturgis, about 350 miles. my tailbone was killing me when i got there, and the comfortable traveling distances have lessoned since then. with the new mustang seat, i made a 250 mile trip last weekend with no pains whatsoever. it seemed to raise my ride height by about 1" and push me back a little bit, which makes it a little harder and less comfortable to lay my ankles over the pegs, but it's not too bad.

RE: Seats
I like my Sundowner; bought it at my dealer when they had a 20% off sale after my first 8-hour on/off day tour with the stocker left me barely able to stand up and walk!
Couple of things: I didn't like the way it looked on the bike at all until I added the sideplates, short rail sissy bar, pad and luggage rack; it is a wide seat, and I don't think it would look so great on the peanut-tank Sportys; it does change your riding position, and I don't think it would be as comfortable without the forward controls on the Custom.
I find it much more comfortable than stock and it has a nice, wide, thick passenger portion as well.
I would definitely recommend that anyone considering the Sundowner try to sit on a bike that has one before deciding.
Then again, as Dennis Miller might say, 'Of course, that's just my opinion; I could be wrong'...[sm=coolness.gif]

I'm with 12 Stones on this one. The Sundowner is great for single and 2UP riding. He's right about the number of posts on this forum for seats. Thre are litterally hundres of posts on this subject with a HUGE wealth of info. I think that most of us agree that the stock seats are horrible.

I have a "96 XL1200C. I have the stock Custom seat on mine for now and it's not too bad for about the first hour or so. After that I do start to get sore a bit.
I have a Lepera seat coming from one of the members on here. I am interested how it will work outfor me.
I'd have tosay the most comfortable seatI have had theprivilidge to ride on was a custom softail pillowtop seat by HD on my neighbors "98 Springer. I could ride for days on thatbike I think without any pains.
My $0.02
