Instead of making your own shield, just buy a non-tinted one. They aren't that expensive.

The windshield has created a buffetting effect causing your helmet to shake. Try putting a washer or two or six at the bottom or top windshield/bracket connection to change the wind stream. Alot of people say the buffetting comes from the wind that blasts under the windshield and adding some fork mounted or windshield mounted lowers will help.
I came across this some years ago but I don't know anyone personally who has tried 'em:

The polarized sunglasses will create a prism-like effect when looking though a windshield or a helmet faceshield.
I made the mistake of wearing polarized glasses underneath my helmet faceshield too. Very distracting.

I understand that part, but is he dealing with his helmet's shield or a windshield? He isn't clear about that. His first post said that it happens when he drops the shield on his helmet. Then his second post said that when he uses his "wind shield" his head gets buffeted. That's two separate things. Then he says something about getting some Lexan. For what? A windshield or a helmet face shield?
