Default spacer location on vulcan midglide HELP

posted in suspension no luck, i have an 06 sporty and purchased a vulcan engineering midglide kit, have a manual but stock setup does not use the spacers provided i the kit, gray instructions say use provided spacers for 04 and up to space out the trees, does not say where they go, my guess the bearings must set in stock location so spacers are installed before bottom bearing and after the top one, can anyone confirm this

Can you post a pic? If they're thin like washers then they will go between the tree & bearing since the 04 & up does not have them with the stock trees.

thanks, yes they are .156 in spacers that look like a thick washer, are you saying they go into the steering head before the bearing + cup. do not have it apart yet, i want to get the setup right so i minimize down time to 1 day. sorry no pics. i know they are not in the stock setup per factory manual, 03 and back does not require their use according to the minimal instructions
