I know this is a dumb question but does the bolt under the rear fender have to be removed to take the seat off?

 

No just push forward (towards the gas tank) and then up and it will pop off. Kinda a PITA the first time.

 

take the screw out first though.lol

 

Lol...I remember when I got mine home the first day & planned on taking alot of it apart to change some things. Started with the seat and immediately had issues. I thought it was going to be a very long weekend!

Don't be afraid to bend the seat. It's hooked on a big lug.

 

you mean this bolt? push forward on seat then up

 

I can't see the pic since I am new and don't have enough post yet. Its not the one on the top of the fender it comes up into the seat from the bottom of the fender.
