Default Rear tire

I have a 08 1200c,and only have 12000 miles on it. The back tire needs replaced already? front is good to go. I run 30lb in front and 36lb in back. Are there tires just junk? What is a good one to go with?

12000 miles is about about average for the rear, usually the front has to be replaced every second rear tire.
I just put another Dunlop on because it was on sale, once it wears out I think I will try Michelin radials front & rear.
The Metzler 880's have good reviews on here as well as the Avion.

+2 for Metzlers. I get 40-50% more mileage from them vs the Dunlop 401 and they handle soooo much better.
