883 idle speed
#3
The ECM takes care of the idle on 07 and newer Sporty's. I installed a Thunder MAx and set the warm idle to 890 RPM. Can just every now and then get the famous Harley lope. Seems like about 750 RPM would sound very nice. HD recomments about what bwana1 said - and don't know why they would want it to idle so fast??? Any answers to that?

You'll have to put up with it. It's because, in the Evo engines, the oil pump is gear driven. Thus, it's capacity to build pressure and pump oil is directly related to the gear ratio between the engine and the pump drive. As xFreebirdx said, below the factory recommended 950rpm, you will NOT get oil to the top end. Any operation below that speed and you are risking major engine damage.
