Default Tunable baffles on the cheap

I was told about a real cheap alternative to baffles that can be used on any non muffler type pipe that provides adequate backpressure to maintain the torque of baffles. Its very simple just drill a 1/4 in hole in the pipes about an inch or two from the opening. weld or JB weld the edge of washer thats about an inch wide to the dead of the bolt. Insert the blot and washer into the pipe and bolt in with a nut. By turning the washer to block the pipe opening it creates backpressure and torque without reducing sound hardly at all. You can tune them for the torque curve you want by adjusting how much the washer is blocking the pipe.

I had problems with low back pressure on some straight drag pipes and an Indy mechanic was telling me that probably just putting a bolt in the pipe would be enough. I may put thos pipes back on and try it.

I was running a 2into1 pipe then went to some high pipes that i had made and ran torque cones. Ive had my torque cones burn out once already so as soon as I get back from Afhanistan im gona try this out. My dad told me about it.

They charge like $80 for lollipop baffles that you can make in your garage for $10. The BCT baffles aren't even adjustable like the ones you could make.

I have done this a few times before and they call them lolliepops. I can tell you that it does not take too much to change the sound with them. I installed some small L brackets in mt MB pipes a few weeks ago to see what would happen and it got rid of my cool sounding back idle so I took them out. Yeah they do give you back some low end that you loos with open pipes, but will cost you some sound.

I would braze the washers on instead of using glue.

Get a piece of all thread, or cut a bolt, cut a notch in it to fit the washer, braze it on.
Maybe slot the other end to fit a screw driver.

You can also get baffles and bend the tabs to get the amount of restriction you want.
I have them in my exhaust.
I bashed out the baffles of my stock silencers, but thought it was too loud and sounded a bit funky, plus I wanted some back pressure, so I jammed in some baffles out of my old Triumph. I removed the silencers, shoved them in, and did not even bother to bolt them in, wedge fit...

It was then too quiet so I bashed a long ratchet extention through the baffles bending the points over till it sounded good.
