Sportster Fairings,,
Lets show em what we use,,,
Mine has NO, Nada, Zip, Not a bit of Turbulence,,
I think It's due to the Shape or curve.
This HD quarter fairing Is very Areodynamic.
Like cafe fairings I presume.
It takes ALL the heavy wind load off my chest and still
leaves me "In Da Wind"
And the Biggie,,the real deal Is,,,drum Roll,,,,
Now I cut through a Tractor Trailer's wind cone or side wind wall like a Hot Knife through butter.
Between the Fairing and the Superbrace which Is not in these pictures I have no wind Issues at all.
It's like punchin through Mach One,,XD

Does the HD quarter fairing fit over the stock headlight? I was looking on eBay for an affordable (read cheap) option. Found the Viper Fairing - but you need a 7 inch headlight. I've read some chitty reviews about the Viper...it's made of plastic not fiberglass, breaks easy....but for $50, hell - I could buy 6 Vipers for what HD wants for theirs.

The HD quarter Fairing does NOT fit the custom due to headlight shape.
A ridin buddy an I measured, he has a custom, Could be made to fit,
Problem Is the head light sits way back inside and the cowling on the Inside
of the fairing would need to be relieved about 2",,lots of cutting.
There Is a seal thats fits on this edge and that sits on the headlight rim.
One thing to be aware of Is the Qtr fairing cuts none of the headlamps field but Is hidden
from the view of cars at 50 to 90 degree angles, so a cager may be less likely to see you at night.
I'm gonna add some marker lights I think, Or very small halogen lamps just below and to the
edges of the fairing.
It's the "angle of attac" that eliminates turbulence.
I have seen others that are small and leaned way back.

Nah! Everyone has their own opinion - me, I really like the look of the quarter fairing. Plus, if it's cuts some of the wind and doesn't replace it with turbulence - it might make riding on the highway more comfortable. I like the wind in my face, but not as much as I used to. Still - I'm not into the full windshield look either - and I'm not about to put a batwing on my Sporty. Nice to know I could...but I won't.
