Most of the guys I ride with pound a few beers on every ride...either at lunch or the bars...I don't drink so no prob for me...at the daytona bike week a few years back there were 21 killed in 10 days...almost all were later in the evening after the beer was flowing....the comment most often heard was "that's not bad considering how many bikers there were"....last year was 7 killed if I remember right...don't drink and drive...

Maybe he shouldn't drink anymore, because that sounds really bad.

He will remember that broken arm in about 10 yrs.It will remind him every morning. Some years ago I could not imagine riding sober, now I could not imagine riding buzzed.I'm glad of that,no I mean grateful.

Lucky Guy.....

DRINK AND DRIVING is not smart with anything, BUT WITH A BIKE IT IS DOWN RIGHT STOOOOPID.....

I was at happy hour last week and had me club soda with lemon all night. Got on my bike and rode home. Not one person disagreed with my logic and desire not to wreck me or my bike.

The only time i've ever dropped/flipped my bike was when i was under the influence of alcohol. I still drink plenty but haven't driven any vehicle with any alcohol in my system in 25 years. I mean i'm a big boy and can drink a beer and hour and be under the limit but why would i want to drink less then 1 drink and hour? Anybody that drinks and drives is an idiot.

Some people may never learn, others take them longer. I personally have recked two cars before I learned but my brother with two recked cars and two DUI's stills drinks even though he's on absolute sobriety from his second one. Sad part is when I chew his *** out about it the less he calls me when he needs a ride. Hopefully you're friend can learn his limits or quits.

Also forgot to add I drink red bull with cranberry at packed bars when I know people are going to be there that give me crap for not drinking. They think nothing of it because it looks like a mixer. That and it's awesome tasting.

I've ridden drunk once in college and it was so miserable that I swore to never do it again. I had to pull over every block to just breathe. It was miserable.

I have a buddy that did the same thing. Drink himself silly and then got up and said he wanted to go. I followed him just in case. He never made it out of the parking lot. He just pulled out and went down. Nothing major, bike needs a few grand in replacement parts.

Sorry to hear about your buddy and his bike. I never consume alcohol and ride. I always shake my head when I ride past a bar and see motorcycles parked out front. These people are commonly referred to as "idiots".
