I have owned Sportsters in the past and am now looking at either a Street Bob or a 48. Mostly just for running around town, but with occasional ride of a couple hours here and there. So the gas tank might be an issue. Also debating on the occasional passenger....obviously more comfortable on the Dyna. I'm 5'10" and don't think the size will be an issue on the 48, will it? What do you think? Should I spend the extra $3000 for the Dyna or save the money and get the 48?

 

I think it's an odd comparison, but I love the street bob, and if you've got the cash maybe the street bob is a little more versatile.

 

Yeah, I know its odd. I think in the long run I will be happier upgrading to the Dyna, but I have always loved sportsters and the way they handle. Plus I love the look of the 48. I got the money for the Bob so it may suit my needs better.

 

I currently have an '07 FXD, and I'm selling it for a 48. I've test-ridden a couple of them, and they fit my 6'0", 205# frame very well. They ride hard, though, and most passengers will not want to ride for long.
