Default Sylvania Silverstar Light Bulbs?

Do any of you guys run one of these bulbs? If so, what is your opinion of it? How much are they? Where do you buy them at?

I run them. Much brighter than stock.

You can get them at Auto Zone. I went with a more expensive PIAA anti vibration bulb that, so far, I've only had to buy once. Previously, I went through several SilverStars

PN for the PIAA anti vibration bulb??? Sounds like the ticket. I ride at 3am to work and man does the stock setup suck.

They are brighter than stock, but do they project farther than stock?

I've used Silverstars several times in cars, and they are definitely brighter, but they seldom project light farther than the yellow tinge stockers. The stock HD bulb on my 48 is probably the same as any other, and it is super bright, low and high. I have noticed that the light doesn't shoot out there very far though. Also, the high beam lights up pretty much everything, but again, it is very easy to ride faster than the light.

I use the Sylvania bulbs. They burn out about every 10 months, but the place where I bought mine gives a one year warranty on the bulbs, so it's no big deal that they burn out that often.

The PIAA anti-vibration bulb will last longer than the Silverstar but will cost 50% more. Both bulbs are worth the bucks.

What the heck kind of mods have you done to that 48 to be able to ride faster than light? On Star Trek, I think they call that "warp speed". Just kiddin' ya, I know what you mean.

I avoid riding much at night on the sportster due to the poor visibility from the headlight and my night vision isn't what it used to be. I may try a Silverstar on the bike. I have Silverstars on my truck and although they're a whiter light and help some, you're right, I can't see out any farther than the regular halogens.

I used Silverstars on my Ninja 250 when I had it. Def was brighter and I felt cars could see me better because the white light didn't look like every other motorcycle light and car head light on the road.

You can always try an HID kit. That is what i plan on doing. I buy my kits from ddmtuning.com There kits are good and cheap. Don't get scared of the prices. They are so low because they actually manufacture them.
