Today after riding to and from work with no problems I came home parked in my driveway ate some dinner then went out to go for anothr cruise, the bike started but had a rattle in what seems to be the started box (im new to this) (right above where the shift lever is). I thought it was nothing then went to my brothers and started up there and the same noise happened again. Once the bike gets started there is no odd sounds just the start up, it even didnt want to start when I was going to leave the gas station before.

The bike is 2005 883 low with the factory warranty good through 5-07, is the starter something that should be covered by the factory warranty, and is this a common problem?

 

I have never experienced that, or have I read it here (though I haven't read every post)...

Do you have any kind of slack (like a jerk) a slow speeds?

In any case, I would get it to your dealer asap... no use getting stuck on the side of the road...

Have you had the primary chain tension adjusted since you bought the bike? The starter sprocket drives one loop of the primary chain. It might be slipping there. If you don't have a service manual and know how to adjust it, you better get to a shop immediately.
