I'm in the market for a old school 3/4 helmet ( don't like full face). Any suggestions on one.

Well, I'm a real person riding a real Harley and I own it fully.
My helmet is a full face Shoei Qwest.

I have two Bell 500 helmets and they are very comfortable and great looking helmets. They come in many different colors and designs and can be found heavily discounted online. I paid about $55 for mine.

Screw em !!! Your body can take quite a beatin if ya go down, but your nog is a different story. All my HD buds wear open face helmets. Some wear the vanity type. No one gives me any crap about it. I have a Shoei RF1100 that a friend of mine gave me. I love it. He rides a 124cu in Bourget custom bike and he sports a full face helmet also. No one gives him any crap. Ride with whatever ya feel comfortable with.
A friend of ours in Florida decided he didn't want to wear a helmet. He went down hard and lost most of his face to the pavement and sustained some brain injuries. He is still alive but may never be able to ride let alone function properly. That alone makes me want to stay with the full face.

I wear a DOT half helmet. I want some protection when I ride, you never know what idiots will do while your out on your bike. I would love to find a DOT that didn't look like a big mushroom on my head.

Available in many different styles and colors. I've had the one in the link for almost two years now and it is a quality piece and very comfortable.

If you think you look douchey on your HD in an FF helmet, just think about how douchey you're going to look when the only part of your face they don't scrape off the pavement is the part underneath your barely legal brain bucket helmet.

I always wear my boots, jacket. 3/4's helmet and gloves, and don't own a stitch of HD clothing. This is what I wear, this is what I like and this is what I am comfortable in. If some douche in his tennis shoes, shorts, t-shirt, no gloves and a dinky excuse for a helmet takes exception to that, well, I'll be happy to challenge him to a "let's drop the bikes and skid across the pavement" contest.

Wear what you makes you feel safe and comfortable. As a new rider, you need to be focused on your riding, not on your fashion statement.
