a coworker of mine never wears a helmet because he swears it won't make a difference if he got into an accident.

myself: i wear a FF, not only because i want to, but because i care what my wife says.

 

Real Harley owners don't care what others think and do what they want. Simple as that. I wear one sometimes.

 

my older brother gave me the best advise I could ever receive when I first got my bike and I'll share it with you.

"Don't worry about looking cool cause you already look cool."

so the guy telling you that real harley owners dont wear full face helmets is just a poser. tell him to shove it, sit his fat *** down on the couch and stick with his Sons

 

I will just say this. One of our local residents who was weathy went on a big ride and 5 miles from the house he took his helmet off. He wrecked a mile from his house and became a vegetable. Not good. Guys, do what ever you want but Im wearing my girly brain bucket.

 

has it been mentioned yet that the token harley mentality is to NOT conform to norms so what was said to the OP is a self contradicting statement?

On my sport bike, full face.
On my Harley, a bandana or a beanie... though I've worn a ff during a really bad storm on my old cruiser before (had no shield at the time either).

A few years ago, while out on a ride with some friends we stopped for gas, when a couple of other riders pulled in on Harley's, you could'nt help but notice the H.A patches on their jackets, One of them was wearing a full face helment, when he pulled it off, the rider was none other than Sonny Barger himself, Now I don't think Mr Barger would of taken to kindly of me calling him on it, not a real Harley owner that is.

 

i agree with most on here.wear what you want when you want.ive been riding for about 20yrs and got into Harleys about 8-9 yrs ago used a FF helmet most of the time on my rice burner.but sold it with the bike and i use a non dot 1/2 now once in a bluemoon now.but in the market for a new FF as we speak.it gets cold at night and would like to be safe for my 2yrs old and wife.
so in case your wondering, i dont care take your sportin a FF with gloves and a pink tutu. i wanna see your ride.
