Those that wear FF helmet regularly overcome that perceived shortcoming by being more diligent with their eyes.

Sunglasses restrict vision about the same amount as a FF.

 

I am making the switch to FF, have been saving for a good one. I don't like that chart that shows 40% of head impacts are face or jaw (ugh).

I took my first ride in a cheaper one last week and it was not bad at all, then I lucked out and came across a salesman from Bell on e-bay, hooked me up with a Matte Black Bell Star, Snell M2010, brand new for $225 (MSRP $549). I will have it in a few days.

 

Both my wife and I wear full face helmets. This picture is from Sturgis this year. A real Harley rider enjoys riding, and sets his/her own path.

 

I wear a Licks NovDot in-town, which our roads are usually 35-40mph. If I'm going over 50mph on a ride somewhere, ff for me. My wife likes my face how it is...

 

I wear an HJC IS-2 half-helmet with the retractable face shield & really like it. I used to ride with no helmet, but decided I feel much safer with my helmet on + my wife & kids also like me wearing a helmet for good reason. I would feel naked without it now. Thinking about getting me a full face also..

 

A real Harley rider does'nt care what any one wears and if they do care there the real posers in life.

 

I'm on a softail and I still wear one. The guys at the Gettysburg HD dealer were looking at me funny rolling in with a FF on when everyone else wasn't even wearing helmets.

I do need a new one though. My HJC is probably 7 years old.

 

I got hit in the face with a small rock when I was wearing a 3/4 helmet. Hurt like hell, made my eyes water like crazy and left a mark for what seemed like an eternity. I wear a full face helmet!!!!!

 

WOW !!! 38 pages (so far). Apparantly real Harley owners do wear full face helmets. I know I do.

 

I live in a state (Indiana) with no helmet law...I wear a Bell RS-1 full face every time I ride.
