It's hilarious watching the facial skin flap on open-face helmet riders with no windshield. Definitely adds to the aging process. Some of us also appreciate the UV protection too.

Real Harley owners? It just takes about $10k and a trip to a dealership and BAM, you're a real Harley owner. Or better, 3-4k and a look through the used ads.

I've seen a few full face helmets for sale at the dealer. I have never liked to wear the full face personally. I just don't feel comfortable in them at all. But my usually wife wears a full face.

What you wear is completely up to you. I've got some friends who wear full face helmets, and it didn't cause their Harley's to suddenly transform into Honda's. Don't put something on to try and conform to some stereotype. You have the freedom to put on anything you want. Perhaps you care too much for what others think?

Wise words. I've owned Harleys since the 70s, when they were just bikes! The current stereotyped Harley owner has developed while I watched and wondered WTF is going on....

          Each to their own!

I have my reasons for wearing what I wear...because I like it! My half lets me feel the wind and hear my motor, my 3/4 muffles the sound for my long trips. I plan on getting a ff for winter, cuz this past winter HURT!!!

Same here... FF + musician's earplugs most of the time. Even with a FF there's enough wind noise at highway speeds to cause hearing damage over time. I can still hear traffic/sirens just fine, and my ears don't ring after a longer ride.

If I'm doing a long trip on the highway, I have custom made earplugs by Westone that are designed for motorcyclists...they cut the wind really well but only have a minimal cut things like horns and sirens.

For around town riding, I do not wear them.

I wear a full face helmet and I have for over 11 years. I like to protect my face from rocks. Lord knows dump trucks have them flying off of them all the time...

I can't exactally kick in their door either for this... lol
