Real Harley owners dont wear full face helmets?

No, actually, it indicates you should pay attention.
My graphic clearly states: Both left and right sides combined. The black graphic shows a total of 43.9%, so it's only one side of the skull.
Or, if you prefer:
Keep in mind, research results from different sources will never match exactly, since they are based on different data sources. None of which matters, since all the research shows the same thing: The vast majority of skull impact injuries occur on the lower, front part of the skull, since that's the part that hits something first.

That is incorrect. Statistics are statistics, not "guesstimates".
The Hurt Report starting gathering data 39 years ago, and the report was published 34 years ago. My information is current to within the last 5-10 years.
Now there's a statement I can agree with. National statistics (NOT "guesstimates") show that in approximately 30% of a fatal crashes the rider was drunk. That's 0.08 drunk, which doesn't include 0.07 or 0.06 or 0.05 or 0.04. If you include those riders, it's probably not a stretch at all to say that fully half of riders in fatal crashes had been drinking before the crash.

Stats are generally guesstimates much like the graph. You might like to refer to The Hurt report if your interested in real stats. The true fact is very few sober riders hit the pavement. I guess the question people need to ask themselves is how much a helmet helps when you hit a telephone pole or a car head on. My mentality on helmets is that its better than nothing and thats the most accurate way to think when it comes to motorcycle helmets. If a person feel safer wearing then thats really all that matters.
How often does a helmet strike a telephone pole or car? Rarely. Pavement is usually the culprit.

Sup guys. I recently bought a '10 Iron 883 and have put about 250 miles on this summer. Its my first bike and my first time ever on a motorcycle. I took all my safety classes and got my license so Ive been taking the necessary steps to become a responsible owner. Ive done a few mods, including drag bars, new seat, pegs etc. The bike looks wicked and people can't believe its a harley and I get tons of compliments.
I wear an Icon SSR full face helmet thats flat black to match the bike. Someone told me today "real harley owners dont wear full face helmets". Im new to the whole culture but I understand it. Ive seen guys wearing vanity helmets that are not DOT approved and they do look cool but I dont want to risk my safety. I already feel weird enough driving without my leather jacket, but its been a constant 90 degrees and humid and I just cant do it.
So my question is, do I look douchey riding around with a full face helmet and gloves and nothing else? Am I the butt of all jokes when other motorcycle guys drive by?

I got my first dirt bike when I was very young. I went to the motorcycle shop and asked the old guy behind the counter (he was probably 21) if this red, white and blue metalflake helmet was a good one.
He looked me in the eye and said, "Well, kid, if you have a five dollar head, by a five dollar helmet." Been wearing ff helmets for the last 54 years.
