OK...maybe some of the new high-tech helmets aren't as good as they're cracked up to be:

I'm a "real" Harley rider. I have all five of the air cooled Harley families ( I count the Buell Ulysses) and do at least one major adventure ride a year. I only were ff helmets.

I had one guy who does not even ride tell me that i shouldn't be riding with a ff helmet. I told the guy to get lost. Unless you ride you shouldn't talk. I love my helmet and don't plan on changing it. Happy riding everyone.

I wore a half helmet until I was run over. I now wear a 3/4. Who gives a rat's *** what others think?

Ive done a few mods, including drag bars, new seat, pegs etc. The bike looks wicked and people can't believe its a harley and I get tons of compliments.

I wear an Icon SSR full face helmet thats flat black to match the bike. Someone told me today "real harley owners dont wear full face helmets". Im new to the whole culture but I understand it. Ive seen guys wearing vanity helmets that are not DOT approved and they do look cool but I dont want to risk my safety. I already feel weird enough driving without my leather jacket, but its been a constant 90 degrees and humid and I just cant do it.

So my question is, do I look douchey riding around with a full face helmet and gloves and nothing else? Am I the butt of all jokes when other motorcycle guys drive by?
Well regardless of the commenter(s) do what you will with your life; full face, half helmet, or no helmet.

I own and use a FF and a 3/4 helmet. Which one I wear depends on the weather. It's my head and I agree that you dress not for the ride, but for other possibilities...

No hair/no cap, cap, shorty, or full face--every option is on the table for me. The Harley style is to have no style. If it looks "bad" then it must be good. If you want your full face to look "cool", just remove the shield, tie a rope to it and drag it around the block.

          Enjoy the ride.
